Who we are
The site tigrispro.com belongs to TIGRIS (David Layani), a studio that builds websites. We want everyone to be able to use it, including people with disabilities, and we build it with that aim from the start.
Accessibility level
The site partially conforms to the Israeli standard IS 5568, based on the WCAG 2.0 guidelines at level AA. For its main parts, we also follow WCAG 2.1 level AA. What is not yet fully accessible is listed below.
What we have done
- Language and reading direction: each page states its language and reading direction (Hebrew right to left, French and English left to right), and words in another language are marked so that a screen reader pronounces them correctly.
- Structure: a single main heading per page, subheadings in order, and identified areas (header, menu, content, footer).
- A “Skip to content” link at the start of each page.
- Keyboard: the site is built for the keyboard, with a clearly visible outline around the active element. Windows and menus close with the Esc key. (Except the box where you draw your signature on a proposal: see below.)
- Forms: every field has a label, and errors are written out in words and announced to screen readers.
- Contrast: main and secondary text were measured at 7.7:1 or more in day mode and 5.4:1 or more in night mode (the minimum is 4.5:1). Field outlines were measured at 4.9:1 in day mode and 3.5:1 in night mode (the minimum is 3:1).
- Images: images that carry information have a text alternative; purely decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Motion and sound: the site respects the device's “reduce motion” setting. Sound is off by default and only starts on a click.
- Day mode and night mode, as you prefer.
Personal settings
In the corner of every page of the public site, an accessibility button opens ten settings: larger text, stronger contrast, a more readable font, line and letter spacing, underlined links, a large cursor, grayscale, keyboard navigation marks, a reading guide and stopping animations. These settings stay in your browser. They are there for comfort, and do not replace the accessibility of the site itself.
What is not yet fully accessible, and the alternative
- The animations (the tiger, the arrival on the site, the projects room and the doors): they are decorative, and all the information is also written. You can stop them with the accessibility button (“Stop animations”) or with your device's “reduce motion” setting.
- Client sites opened in the “Visit the site” window: these are separate sites, and their accessibility depends on each one. Each can be opened in a new tab, and each project is described in writing on the Projects page.
- The member area and the admin panel: built to the same rules, but not yet tested end to end with a screen reader. Having trouble? We'll help you by phone, WhatsApp or e-mail.
- Signing a proposal: the signature is drawn with a finger or the mouse. If you can't draw, download the proposal as a PDF (there is a place to sign by hand) and send it back to us signed by e-mail or WhatsApp, or call us: we'll find a solution together.
Compatibility
The site is designed for recent versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge, on computer and phone (iOS and Android). It has not yet been fully tested with screen readers (such as NVDA and VoiceOver).
Physical service
TIGRIS has no office that receives the public. All service is remote: WhatsApp, phone, e-mail and video call.
Exemptions
TIGRIS does not rely on any exemption from the accessibility obligation.
